IRISH BRIGADE SOLDIER.—Pvt. Hugh McVey, Co. K, 116th Pa. Promoted to corporal 9 /17/62. Wounded in action at Fredericksburg, Dec. 13, 1862, he was wounded again at Chancellorsville, May 3, 1863. He was hospitalized until Oct. 3, 1863, and then assigned to provost marshall duty until discharged in February 1864. The 116th was one of the regiments in the Irish Brigade.
